It houses a first-class relic of the blood of the15th Century saint St. Francis de Paola (March 27th, 1416 – April 2nd, 1507). Paola is the patron saint of boatmen, mariners, and naval officers. The relic is displayed in a glass-front oval located in the center of the monstrance and identified on the fabric.
